MARKETING AND BUSINESS STRATEGIES INTERNSHIP

POSITION SUMMARY: Phoenix Physical Therapy and Sport Performance is a national leader in the health care profession. This educational program began in 2006 and provides a 12-week, part-time or full-time internship typically for junior- or senior-level undergraduate students pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, sociology, or economics. The position will utilize creative marketing and business skills in our continued development of our various marketing programs for professional sports, high school sports, local physician, and the golf community.  This position is for energetic and self-motivated individual whom as an interest in small business development and marketing.  We also accept interns who have competitive athletic playing experience at the collegiate level and technical knowledge of strength and conditioning who are interested in pursuing a career in business.

OUR SPECIALTIES
At Phoenix, we focus on two core specialty areas – physical therapy and sports performance.  Our expert staff have years of experience in both arenas and approach them with a progressive, performance-based mindset.

• PHYSICAL THERAPY

Our therapists have both the knowledge and expertise to take clients from the acute injury phase back to their prior level of function – or better. We create targeted programs that address the full spectrum of injury cause and recovery, and we implement them in highly-customized, one-on-one sessions. In addition, we help our clients learn to prevent re-injury through specialized training and home exercise plans.

• SPORTS PERFORMANCE

Our sports performance programs are grounded in the same training techniques we use with professional athletes.  We adapt those techniques to fit each athlete’s abilities, playing position and goals in order to boost performance at any age, in any discipline, amateur or pro.  We maintain leading-edge programs and equipment to ensure each client receives the most current competition-based training available – a practice that is setting the standard in the sports performance industry

NECESSARY QUALIFICATION: 
In order to be considered for an internship at Phoenix Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, each candidate must have a solid knowledge of athletics and business, as well as, a strong work ethic, a deep-seated willingness to learn, strong communication skills, and current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program or a graduate of a 4-year college or university. The ideal candidates are self-motivated, energetic, organized, and are team players with a desire to succeed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:  Competitive high school and/or Division I, II, or III playing experience. Applicants with experience in the areas of business, sales, marketing.

AVAILABILITY: Opportunities for internships are available management and/or marketing.  MBA candidates are encouraged to apply. year-round, although we prefer terms from May-July and Nov-Jan. To ensure that the intern maximizes his/her experience, candidates must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Candidates who can work full-time are preferred.
